Muscle Energy Techniques CEU


The Muscle Energy Technique (MET) course is designed for healthcare professionals seeking to enhance their manual therapy skills through the application of MET. This technique is a form of osteopathic manipulative treatment that involves the voluntary contraction of a patient's muscles against a counterforce applied by the practitioner. MET is used to improve musculoskeletal function and alleviate pain by mobilizing joints, stretching tight muscles and fascia, and improving circulation.

Course Dates: November 3rd-5th, 2:00-6:00 pm, 12-hour CEUs

Course Objectives: By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  1. Understand the principles and physiological basis of Muscle Energy Technique.,

  2. Identify indications and contraindications for the use of MET.,

  3. Perform a comprehensive assessment to determine the suitability of MET for various, musculoskeletal conditions.

  4. Apply MET to specific regions of the body, including the cervical, thoracic, lumbar spine, pelvis, and extremities.

  5. Integrate MET into a broader treatment plan for patients with acute and chronic, musculoskeletal issues.

  6. Evaluate the effectiveness of MET and adjust techniques based on patient response.
